The total shewn under "B" however clearly excludes a large proportion of the Agency expenditure. The amount shown for the three years 1907 1909 varies from 55000 to
57000 or approximately not much more than one third of the total expense which the Colony has apparently regarded as debitable to the Agencies.
The whole or practically the whole of the cost of
carriage of agency mails (Gratuities to Ship Masters,
Share of Subsidy, Transit Charges) is in the Estimates
placed under the heading of "other charges" against the
Hong Kong Post Offices.
It is desired to have a detailed statement of all
expenditure debited against the agencies, and also in the
matter of Transit Charges of any suns received to the
credit of the agencies against debits under the same
heading.
